Progress Reports

Grades K – 8

During the semester parents and learning coaches can access daily reports of student progress in the MyInfo region of the OLS. At the end of each semester, MVA will provide K – 8 students a written progress report that includes the Mastered, Complete, and Incomplete codes defined as follows:

  • Math, History, Science and Language Arts
    • 100% = M
    • 90 to 99% = C
    • 89% and below = I
  • Art, Music, and Physical Education
    • 100% = M
    • 90 to 99% = C
    • 30 to 89% = P*
    • 29% and below = I

These course completion percentages will be used to determine progress letter grades on end-of-the-year progress reports for K – 8 students.

*If a full-time K – 8 student is at the “P” level in art, music, or physical education but is making satisfactory progress in the core subjects, the administrator and teacher may allow the child to advance to the next grade level. Thirty percent completion will still show on the child’s end-of-the-year progress report, and the course will continue in the child’s online school for the following year.

Any K-8 student who is behind in the critical content area(s) of language arts or mathematics may be put on an acceleration plan so greater progress can be made in those subjects. Expectations for art, music, or physical education may be reduced so students can focus on critical subjects. In these cases, teachers and parents may negotiate on the final letter grade(s) in art, music, or physical education.
