Online learning and individualized instruction provide for flexibility and individual student engagement. But we all know that nothing can quite replace the opportunity to see instructors and speak directly with them.
K12 has partnered with the web-conferencing system, Blackboard Collaborate, to engage students in a rich, collaborative environment for online meetings. Teachers will use this tool throughout the year with students and parents to provide real-time, remote one-on-one, small group, or large group teaching.
Some Technical Stuff
To get the maximum benefit from Blackboard Collaborate, all users should have functional speakers attached to their computers. A microphone can be used by participants, but it certainly is not necessary to have a microphone. Blackboard Collaborate can best be utilized through high-speed Internet access.
